about

The periodic table contains all the elements necessary for the origin and continuation of life. This is the main matrix on which living matter builds existence. We are part of it, we interact with its elements, as a result of this we change, mutate, move forward, live. Chemistry is life, and all life is chemistry.

Mendelayev also remembers this - a chemical experimenter of sound, a fan of changes, a laboratory assistant in a burnt robe, combining elements and details of music in test tubes, an entertaining chemist who fuses thoughts, samples, harmonies in order to burn a thousand times. And in the thousand and first get what you wanted. Crazy young scientist of electronic sound, he searches for the necessary compounds, sometimes finds, and his music is so similar to these connectable-non-connectable (atypical?) Reagents. He himself says so, without any respect for authorities and rules: "I am not a fan of D.M. Mendeleev, but I respect some elements" And the point is not only in chemistry.

Although chemistry has a lot to do with our album. "Chrome" (Chromium, Russian spelling is Xpom) is one of the most beautiful and purest metals: the chemist Vauquelin, who isolated it, was amazed at the variety of colors formed by its various compounds (by the way, "chromium" from the Greek means color, paint). Like real chrome, the album is varied and multicolored; like real chrome, Mendelayev's musical samples and innovations are distinguished by "resistance to external stimuli and ease of formation of connections with other elements." He likes to look in music for what no one else has heard or suspected, and combine this with already proven materials. Mendelayev is constantly experimenting in "Chrome": he will add a broken idm, electronic dances for the brain, then drum and bass, but not the one with a straight barrel, to which European amphetamine teenagers dance, but his own, new one, in which there is also a broken beat, and provocation, and even sampled sounds of real scissors, pencils or needles. That will make the title track a lecture on chemistry, downloaded from the Internet, which once, upon first listening, he did not like with its balalaikas, and, in order not to suffer, literally made a new version of it in just a few hours. And his very name - Mendelayev - suggests that this guy loves to use different special effects to improve life and sound. Or make it different, at least.

Maybe because he spent a year and a half in the army practically underground, serving as a radio operator, and still recalls such a different, strange and mysterious atmosphere of the bunker, in which at night, under the restless electric light, four radios crackle, giving some Morse code, some encrypted data, who is a distant female voice, who is just noise and crackling. It was then that Mendelayev brought an old synthesizer from home, and then he got carried away with strange sounds, trying to write electronic music using two tape recorders and this synthesizer. The atmosphere of a bunker and distant lost, the mysteriousness of electronic signals and a feeling of loneliness remained in his tracks.

Mendelayev is well-known in Russia and abroad as a sound producer and sound engineer, who writes all kinds of electronic music. His first album was out on Art-Tek Records in 2003, becoming one of the first Russian Drill & Bass\IDM LP's. This album was highly praised by the music press, soon Mendelayev became one of the most famous Russian experimental artists, playing live at various clubs across the country. This versatile provocateur is trying to fuse his music with many elements, and we are glad that you will be the first to rate his search results.
